The Film and Television Study Program was established on April 4 2019 through UPI Rector Regulation Number: 4093/UN40/HK/2019 under the name Film and Television Study Program at Bachelor Level (Strata 1 / S1).
The idea of establishing a Film and Television Study Program was initiated by the Faculty of Art and Design Education who saw the possibility of developing the field of Film and Television scholarship within the Faculty of Art and Design Education, UPI. This is also driven by the demands of society for the need for graduates in the field of Film and Television.

Organizing and developing Film and Television education that is superior in quality and relevant to the needs of the nation's development;

Organizing and developing research in the field of Film and Television that excels in theory and practice to support professional lectures;

Disseminating creative and innovative findings in the field of Film and Television through Community Service (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat / PKM) activities;

Develop professional networks and partnerships in the field of education as well as film and television industry practices with government, private, community and community institutions at the local, regional, national and international levels.
